Teresa Grasby is a fine artist living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Teresa is a working artist, an art instructor, and the owner of an art instructional facility and supply store (Grasby Art Instruction, Art Supplies and Framing).
Teresa opened Grasby Art in 2011 as a means of mentoring developing artists of all ages. The studio has served 5000 plus students since 2011.
As a third generation Calgarian, with a background in earth and environmental sciences, Teresa's artwork is inspired by the local Alberta landscape. Whether it is an aspen forest or mountain vista, Teresa is fascinated by complex composition, colour harmony, and the unexpected shimmer of metallic hues. Teresa creates large works of art which communicate her energetic spirit and optimism.
Teresa's artistic ability was recognized at a young age when she was chosen to participate in a gifted children's art program. She continued to grow as an artist and was awarded the Wess Irwin Art Scholarship. Teresa went on the earn a minor in art while pursuing her B.Sc. degree at the University of Calgary. For her efforts she received the Undergraduate Merit Award.
Teresa's artwork has been sold in the Calgary area through Calyx Distinctive Arts, the Leighton Art Centre, the Artspace Gallery, ArtsAstray, the Saffron Gallery in Cochrane, Cornie's Daughters Gallery in Didsbury, and through the Grasby Art Studio in Calgary. Articles about the studio have been published in Avenue Magazine, the Calgary Journal, and the Spectator Tribune.
